Who is Private Functional Medicine for?

Private Functional Medicine is ideal for those who want to address autoimmune diseases, SIBO, gastroparesis, other gut conditions, hormone imbalances, fatigue or other chronic health issues in an individualized way with appropriate testing. We will work through rotating customized protocols that use diet and nutritional supplementation determined by testing to bring balance to the body systems of digestion, detox, neuroendocrine. Addressing chronic health conditions is not easy though. Like all good things, the harder you work for it, the better the payoff.  Private Functional Medicine works best for those who are ready to make the necessary changes and are sick of dead-end doctor appointments or quick fixes that don't solve the problem. We will get results.

A Deep Dive into Your Concerns

If you're looking at Private Functional Medicine, you know the pain of many doctors' appointments and testing with few results. We will take a deep dive into your health concerns. Heidi will recommend functional testing that will best uncover the root causes of your symptoms. She spends hours analyzing test results to discover the connections that other practitioners didn't find or aren't trained to look for.

Functional Testing

Heidi will order the appropriate functional testing. She runs a wide variety of testing and is trained in analyzing and reading many functional tests. These tests will uncover more information in order to get to the root cause of your health concern and inform the plan Heidi recommends for bringing the body systems back into balance. Personal Commitment

You will get real commitment from Heidi to address your concerns and make a plan that actually works. In return, Heidi expects real commitment from her clients as they adjust their lives to bring balance to their body systems and allow the body to heal. By default our society lives a lifestyle of unhealth, so it takes intentionality and determination to pursue healing. These meetings are used to go over test results, ask questions, and receive support in the plan Heidi designs for your unique health goals. Every client also gets email support so you never feel alone in your journey to finding healing.

  • What's the best package for me?

    That depends on your health concerns and the type of care you are looking for. This is something Heidi will discuss during a Health Discovery Call and share her recommendation with you. 

  • What will I have to do to heal?

    The plans Heidi creates in collaboration with you are bio-individualized, so know the plan before your initial assessment, conversation with Heidi, and any recommended testing is complete. Heidi partners with people to balance the body systems, and empowers her clients to learn about their own body so they can help it heal. Ultimately, it's the client's role to implement changes (with Heidi's help and support!) and adjust their lifestyle to bring balance back into the body. It's not easy, but for anyone who's sick of the endless doctor's visits and medications, it's SO worth it!

  • Why is EnergyRx included in Private Functional Medicine?

    Every health issue is a sign of imbalanced body systems. When one body system is compromised or imbalanced it affects the others. EnergyRx is designed around building a solid foundation of health by bringing balance to each body system. Private Functional Medicine goes further to do appropriate testing to uncover the specific nature of imbalances and root causes for the concerning symptoms. The information in EnergyRx addresses imbalances broadly and Private Functional Medicine helps to narrow in and focus on the specific imbalances in an even more detailed and strategic way. Many find significant relief in addressing imbalances in a broad way while others may appreciate the attention of focusing in on their particular health concerns.

  • How does payment work?

    Payment for all Private Functional Medicine packages is due before the first session. We take all major credit cards, debit cards, FSAs (Flexible Spending Accounts) and HSAs (Health Savings Accounts). We do not work directly with insurance companies in an effort to keep our costs as low as possible. We offer a payment plan option for Private Functional Medicine if that is helpful. Please let Heidi know if you are interested in a payment plan.

  • Do I have to schedule a Discovery Call?

    Yes. This brief conversation is designed for yours and Heidi's benefit. Heidi wants to hear about your concerns and make sure that she can help you. If she knows that her expertise falls outside of your concern she will tell you. The Discovery Call gives you and Heidi a chance to see if Heidi Toy Functional Medicine is a good fit for you. You'll also learn about the different packages Heidi offers and what she would recommend to best address your health concerns. 

  • What if I need more than one functional test and I get the Standard Package?

    The Standard package comes with one functional test. Some people do benefit from more than one test though which Heidi will discuss with you in your sessions. Additional testing is available for purchase. Heidi will discuss the details of this with you as additional testing is appropriate.
